Interior and exterior lighting design, 2012-2015.
Built in 1791, Albion House sits on the East Cliff in Ramsgate and was once the summer holiday residence of Princess (later Queen) Victoria. More recently a council chambers, the Grade II-listed building has recently been renovated as a 14-room hotel, bar and restaurant.
Studio Dekka provided lighting design services for the renovation. From the inception of the project, the chosen methods of lighting became central to the new character of the building – communicating a sense of refined domesticity, clarity of programme and material quality expressed in simple surface mounted and floor luminaires in aged brass with reeded and pearlescent glass.
